Dr. Sue Lapham

Having graduated from University of Queensland in 1985, I spent my first four years as a vet  in Roma, followed by ten years in Toowoomba.

In April 2008 I returned to Indooroopilly where I was born and raised and purchased the Indooroopilly Veterinary Clinic from Dr. Ray Barbero, who had owned it from the early 1970's, when it was one of the original vet clinics in Brisbane.   In 2016 I joined a private group of practices called Vetpartners, which now frees me up from some of the back room jobs to concentrate on my profession, and will ensure that this iconic clinic can continue as it has previously to continue providing personalized vet care to the families of the western suburbs for many years to come.     

I enjoy working with all species and have a wide range of experience in surgery and medicine including emergencies. It also gives me  a great deal of satisfaction to work as the manager and to mentor so many wonderful veterinary nurses over the years. 

My own pets are Patsy the Labrador and another beautiful Labrador , Jessie, from whom we hope to breed one day soon. Sadly we lost our cat Sophie to oral cancer a few years ago , but we plan to find another cat soon.

Dr Sue Lapham featured in the Companion Magazine which goes out to all ASAVA (Australian Small Animal Veterinary Association) members.  The ASAVA is a special interest group of the Australia Veterinary Association (AVA) and is the largest group within the AVA. Click here to have a read.

Dr Sue Lapham is a current member of the AVA (Australian Veterinary Association), ASAVA (the largest special interest group of the AVA for Veterinarians with a focus on small animals) and the AVA Dental Group.

Dr. Cathy Fodor

Veterinarian

I joined the practice part-time in 2006 and currently work two to three days a week. Having grown up in Brisbane and graduating from University of Queensland in 1989, I spent a few years in mixed practice in North Queensland and then I ran my own mixed practice at Bellbowrie. 

Since having a family, I have worked in practices in the local area as well as looking after the ponies at the Pony Riding for Disabled at Pinjarra Hills. 

My interests are problem-solving canine and feline medicine and dermatology cases, periodontal disease treatment as well as  all aspects of  general practice.  I have an interest in abdominal ultrasonography.

Dr. Danielle Appay

Veterinarian

A UQ graduate, I spent my first couple of years as a new vet in my home town of Canberra. From then, I moved to the sunny tropics of Queensland, working for 3 years in South Brisbane in a large small animal hospital.

I joined the team at Indooroopilly Veterinary Clinic in 2016, and am excited to meet all our wonderful clients. Usually I help look after my parents' dog, a 2 yo Whippet called Beryl, who is full of enthusiasm and spunk. In my spare time, I enjoy cycling, and volunteer with a children's charity, visiting sick kids in hospital as well as at home.

Mia Reeve-Johnson

We are lucky to have an experienced veterinarian such as Mia on our team. She works part-time and has been with us for six years.   Her own gorgeous dogs pictured here are both rescue dogs, Leia, a Bull Arab Great Dane Cross and Amntla aka Puppy, a Labrador Mastiff Cross

Amber

Veterinary Nurse

Amber has been veterinary nursing for 16 years and has worked in Melbourne and England as well as Queensland. She has experience in practice management, puppy preschool and all aspects of nursing.

Amber has Gilbert (pictured) a very affectionate  Devon Rex cat and Polka Dot a very friendly Jack Russell Terrier. Amber loves to travel and has spent sometime overseas including a 3 month trip to Mexico. She loves to play and watch sport!

Sue Hanson

I have worked as a veterinary nurse since 1988 in Sydney and Brisbane and in the Indooroopilly area for 20 of those years. I have wealth of experience in the care of native animals and birds.

I joined the team at Indooroopilly Vet Clinic in 2008 and am loving the caring atmosphere of the practice and the friendliness of the clients.

Nicole

Veterinary Nurse

I am a qualified , senior veterinary nurse, and have been in the industry since 2008.

Having joined the Indooroopilly team, I have a love of animals,  nursing and providing care for pets. I grew up on a hobby farm, having volunteered at Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital, been involved in pet-sitting and pet travel consultancy at Dogtainers along the way. I have gained lots of knowledge and experience with animal handling, behaviour, breeds, and their welfare, as well as customer service, which we value so highly here at Indooroopilly Vet Clinic.

Animals have always been my passion, as they brighten anyone's day.  My special interests outside of work are yoga, playing beach volleyball, and anything involving the great outdoors. I love to travel to explore new places, and also love a visit back to the hobby farm to see all the family pets.

Ellen

Veterinary Nurse

Ellen joined us in 2017 as an experienced senior nurse, having worked for six years in a highly regarded vet hospital in A.C.T.  She adores dogs and cats and has a wonderful caring manner with her patients. She holds a certificate 4 in Veterinary Nursing.

Ellen has always had a passion for helping and being around animals, and has worked with rehoming rescued labradors. Her Devon Rex cat, Jazz , is in the photo with Ellen. 

Megan

I started working at Indooroopilly Vet Clinic back in 2010. Since then, I left Indooroopilly Vet Clinic for maternity leave in 2014, I have started working 2 days a week now that Perseus is over 1 year old.

I am passionate and an experienced nurse who has a high standard of patient care and always look forward to meeting new clients and their pets.

I have four cats, 3 of which are bengals, their names are Poppy, Bertram, Lavendar and Marvolo. I also have two dogs, one  called 'Bugalugs' and a well behaved cattle dog we rescued called Panther.

Taryn

Hi I'm Taryn and I work 2-3 days per week. Indooroopilly Vet Clinic is family friendly so I am able to work part-time and have my little girl in day care while I work. My qualifications include Veterinary Nursing Certificate IV and my previous experience  prior to general practice includes working with emergency and critical care at the Underwood After-hours service.  

I have been working at Indooroopilly Vet Clinic for three years, during which I have enjoyed every moment. I work with such a great team of veterinarians and nurses that are very compassionate and hard working. 

I am a mother to a beautiful little girl named Eliza Rose. I also have a little fur-baby named Archibald. He is a Ragdoll- 8 years old, going on 2! But Never the less, I love him! 

I enjoy assisting Sue with her busy and happy veterinary practice and really enjoy veterinary dentistry and all aspects of pet care.

I started working at Indooroopilly Vet Clinic in 2009. In 2013 I decided to take my career one step further and started studying.

I mainly work on weekends and in the uni holidays, now that I am studying Veterinary Science.

I have three cats, Dottie, Evie and Sidney.  Sidney was saved from being a forgotten stray and now is a little terror!

Veterinary Nurse

Sandra joined us in 2016 , after choosing a veterinary nursing career after having run her own business previously.  She is currently studying for her nursing certificate and training on site. She is capable in all areas of general practice and you will often will see her smiling face at reception. You will find Sandra's  composed and compassionate nature will give you the reassurance you need when your pets are in her care.
